ASAC Achievements

The Adkerson School of Accountancy placed a record-breaking number of students in internships – 77 – for the spring and summer of 2025! Perhaps the “coolest” is Dawson Boes’ tax internship with BDO in Anchorage, AK. The Meridian, MS, student (right) is shown here with friends.
In recognition of his leadership skills and commitment to profession and community, alumnus Steven Eilders was named the 2025 MSCPA Rising Star at the Mississippi Society of CPAs’ (MSCPA) Annual Convention in June. He is an Audit Manager at BMSS Advisors & CPAs.
The ASAC Advisory Council has welcomed two new members: Alex Ezelle, an Auditor with Warren Averett in Birmingham, AL, and Katie Hutson, Tax Supervisor and Recruiting Coordinator with Harper, Raines, Knight & Company in Ridgeland, MS. Many thanks to them and to all our Council members for their support and counsel!
Alumnus Dickens Fournet received the 2025 MSCPA Public Service Award, which recognizes commitment to community through charitable, civic and public service activities that enhance the professional image of CPAs. Fournet is a Partner with GranthamPoole, PLLC.
Dr. Brad Lang has been promoted to Associate Professor of Accountancy with tenure. Lang, shown on the right with ASAC Director Shawn Mauldin, was also awarded the H. Devon Graham Professorship.
The University honored ASAC Academic Coordinator Trina Pollan with the Irvin Atly Jefcoat Excellence in Advising Award for staff. Here, she is congratulated by ASAC Director Shawn Mauldin (left) and COB Dean Scott Grawe.
