ASAC Welcomes Our New Faculty

The Adkerson School of Accountancy is proud of the three faculty members who have joined us full time this fall.

Dr. Nick Cicone

Assistant Professor Dr. Nick Cicone came to Mississippi State in August 2022 as a Visiting Professor of Accountancy and moved into his current position a year later. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of South Florida and completed a PhD in 2022 at the University of Florida. Previous employment includes work with T. Rowe Price as a Service Associate. Cicone now teaches Intermediate Accounting I and Principles of Financial Accounting. Auditing, interim reporting and governance are topics he enjoys digging into as a researcher. In his off time, Cicone likes to play and watch soccer and to express his artistic side by creating light shows and playing guitar.

Dr. Laurie Ereddia

Assistant Professor Dr. Laurie Ereddia recently completed her PhD at the University of Tennessee. Previously, she worked in the private sector as an Auditor at Grant Thornton in Atlanta and a Controller at a private entity in Kennesaw, GA. Kennesaw State University is where she earned both a BBA (2013) and a master’s in accounting (2014). Both universities afforded teaching and research experience, which provided strong background for her present role with ASAC, where she teaches Intermediate Accounting II and Principles of Financial Accounting. At the same time, Ereddia is continuing to pursue her research interests, which include auditing, corporate governance and financial reporting. She holds CPA licenses in Mississippi and Georgia. When not working, she enjoys hiking and traveling with Gus, her golden retriever.

Allie Pilgrim

Allie Pilgrim is no stranger to our School, having earned her Bachelor of Accountancy degree in 2018 and a Master of Taxation degree in 2019 at Mississippi State. In 2019, she was recognized with ASAC’s Outstanding Graduate Student Award. Since graduating, she has become a certified CPA in Tennessee and worked in taxation with FORVIS, LLP. She also has experience with the Beyond Brands Group and Dealer Service Groups. Now an Instructor in the Adkerson School of Accountancy, she teaches Principles of Financial Accounting, Principles of Managerial Accounting and Advanced Accounting. Outside work, Pilgrim loves being outdoors, attending MSU sporting events and exercising.
